Hi-Lo Books with Terms Included

I believe the terms will especially be helpful for English Second Language classrooms.

As a teacher, it was always challenging finding books to use in the classroom. And most of the time I had to come up with my own collection of vocabulary terms to teach. So, as an author, I decided it would be helpful if I created Hi-Lo books with terms included. In fact, key terms are currently included in my new series, The Way I See It. This will help the teachers who use my novels in their classroom as they work with struggling readers. I particular, I believe the terms will be especially helpful for English Second Language classrooms.

The Way I See It series includes Hi-Lo books with terms included. As I decided on terms to include, I focused on terms that would be new to individuals who are not familiar with a topic. For example, there are football terms in one book and wrestling terms in another book. I have also included slang and text terms. These terms will help teachers directly teach definitions to their students. In fact, I strongly suggest this approach. Teach the terms before the students read a passage with those terms present. This will allow for greater reading comprehension.

In addition, it will also allow teachers of English Second Language learners to have some terms readily available. Often we forget that terms are only familiar to those who know “American Culture”. Hi-Lo books with terms included will help build that cultural bridge as well.

I hope you will give The Way I See It a try. I believe you will enjoy having this resource at your fingertips. https://www.lbtillit.com/the-way-i-see-it-series/
